Powertrain Packages

In the current generation, you can choose from three distinct power plants. The Ford EcoBoost platform consists of a turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine that delivers a nice balance of performance and fuel efficiency to crank out 310 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque. Today's version of the classic Ford 5.0L powertrains can be found in the Mustang GT models; it is the Coyote V8, a beast that produces 480 horsepower and 415 pound-feet of torque. If you wish to graduate from muscle car to supercar performance, the 5.0L Ti-VCT V8 Dark Horse power plant delivers a staggering 500 horsepower and 415 pound-feet of torque.

The EcoBoost Mustangs come with a standard Ford SelectShift 10-speed automatic transmission; some models with this drivetrain offer paddle shifters for greater control. The Mustang GT and Dark Horse models offer a Tremec® 6-speed manual for a more traditional muscle car experience, but it is important to note that the SelectShift system is tuned for performance.

A Thoroughly Modern Interior

The driver-focused cockpit of the new Ford Mustang retains its muscle car heritage with a focus on functionality and performance. A fully customizable digital instrument cluster allows you to display and organize information critical to your driving style. The redesigned center console integrates flows with the dashboard and allows more legroom. You can upgrade the interior with options such as heritage-inspired stitching patterns, engraved gear shift knobs, and ambient lighting.
